DJ Techné, “Devil’s Gonna Get You” Video

In time for Halloween, I’ve made a quick promo-video for “Devil’s Gonna Get You”: a remix of Robert Johnson’s “Me and the Devil.” Check it out! Thanks to Inke Goes (www.inekegoes.nl) for allowing me to use her art for the video.

From Dedications II (and dedicated to Bessie Smith & Robert Johnson).

I’ve been wanting this Lovage album on vinyl for a while and so I was pretty stoked that it got reissued. #nathanielmerriweatherpresentslovage #loveage #musictomakelovetoyouroldladyby #kidkoala #mikepatton #jennifercharles #dantheautomator

Definitely not the only reason, but certainly a big reason, I wanted to collect tapes was for certain releases that seem to really fit the cassette format. The main one for me was one of my all time favourite albums: Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers. I now own the original LP and cassette, and, even more rare, the “Protect Your Neck” LP single released on Wu-Tang Records before they signed with Loud. Wu-Tang Forever! #cassette #wutang #enterthewutang #36chambers #rza #hiphop #enterthewutang36chambers
‘90s cassette throwback! I definitely played these three albums a lot back in grades 7 through 9. What’s your favourite of the three? #cassette #cassetteculture #greenday #dookie #smashingpumpkins #siamesedream #offspring #smash #cassettes #90smusic
I’ve been working a lot more from home now that classes are done and so I’ve had more time to listen to records. Two ambient records I’ve been listening to recently are Brian Eno’s Film Music (1976-2020) and jazz duo Bremer/McCoy’s Utopia. Both are fantastic! #brianeno #brianenofilmmusic #bremermccoy #ambient #studymusic #jazz
“Nobody listens to techno.” I’ve always loved Moby’s Play and the vinyl pressing is reference quality. #moby #play
